When we refer to JATSeditor.com it includes all subdomains of jatseditor.com, such as app.jatseditor.com and other subdomains.

If you are not agree with this Term of Use, you should not use our product or service as provided in this site and its domain.

Term of Use (General)

1. Definitions

“JATSeditor.com” refers to the website and its associated services for creating JATS XML files.
“User” refers to anyone accessing or using the services provided by JATSeditor.com.
“Content” refers to any data, files, text, or other materials uploaded, created, or submitted by users via JATSeditor.com.
“We” refers to provider JATSeditor.com.
“You” refers to the user of the editor and the creator of file created by JATSeditor.com

2. Use of the Service

Users must be at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms of Use in their jurisdiction.
You agree to use JATSeditor.com solely for purposes consistent with its intended functionality—creating and managing JATS XML files for academic publishing.
You must not:
- Use the service for unlawful purposes.
- Introduce malicious software, such as viruses.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, duplicate, or exploit the platform’s underlying software and technologies.
- Strictly prohibited from abusing, manipulating, or exploiting JATS usage quotas, including but not limited to excessive, automated, repetitive, or non-legitimate generation of JATS XML files beyond the intended fair use of the service. Any form of quota exploitation may result in account suspension or termination.

3. Account and Access

Account Creation: Certain features of JATSeditor.com may require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
Account Termination: JATSeditor.com reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms of Use or misuse of the platform.

4. Intellectual Property

Ownership: JATSeditor.com is the product of PT. Inovasi Informatik Sinergi and we retain ownership of all intellectual property related to the platform, including its interface, code, and branding.
User Content: You retain ownership of any Content you create or upload. By using the service, you grant JATSeditor.com a non-exclusive license to process your Content solely for the purpose of providing the service.
Image/Video Licensing Responsibility: If a user uploads/attached an image/video with a license, the user is solely responsible for ensuring compliance with that license. JATSeditor.com disclaims any legal responsibility for licensed images uploaded by users.

5. Pricing and Payment

Certain features or services may require payment. These fees are disclosed on the pricing page and are subject to change.
By purchasing and using the product/services, you agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes.

6. Privacy

We respects your privacy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy page for details on how we collect, use, and protect your data.

7. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

No Guarantee: JATSeditor.com is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that the service will meet your specific needs or be error-free.
Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless we, its affiliates, and employees from any claims or damages resulting from your use of the service or violation of these Terms of Use.

9. Changes to the Terms

We reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting. Continued use of the platform signifies acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Indonesia (country our company is registered). Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Indonesian legal jurisdiction .

Term of Use (Quota Package)

General Terms of Service

No Refund
All purchases are final. We do not provide refunds for any reasons.
Non-Transferable Quota
Purchased quotas are tied to the integrated JATS account during the order process and cannot be transferred to another account.
Quota Usage
Quotas are valid only for their intended purpose as stated in the product description.
Quota May Not Be Resold
Quota purchased is only for registered institutions or account and may not be resold in any form.
Support and Assistance
Support is limited to the scope of issues related to our JATS Editor functionality. Third-party issues are not covered.
Prohibited Activities
Any attempt to manipulate or exploit the quota system, including but not limited to duplication or unauthorized sharing, will result in account termination.
Manuscript Submission Format
- Clients who choose Implementation by our Team package must send us manuscripts in .doc or .docx format.
- Submissions in .pdf format are subject to additional processing fees $5 USD/per document.

Terms of Service for Annual Basic Package

In this Annual Basic Package user will get 20 (twenty) quotas for converting documents into XML within a 1-year period. And one quota can be used to create 1 XML document.
The quota under this Annual Basic Package can only be applied to a maximum of 1 journal on the same 1 domain (same 1 OJS installation)
The creation or implementation of XML files must be carried out independently by the user (self-implementation) using the provided tutorials. Our team does not provide additional implementation services beyond the package terms.
The Annual Basic service is valid for 1 (one) year, and the quota will only be allocated after full payment has been received in our account.
Full payment must be made before the service is activated. There are no end-of-term or installment payments.
To renew the service for the next year, clients must complete payment at least 30 (thirty) days before the contract expires, using the invoice provided by us.
If renewal payment is not received in our account by the deadline, the service will be temporarily suspended until payment is completed. No quota will be provided during the suspension period.
Any unused quota can be carried over to the next year only if the client renews the contract continuously. Upon renewal, an additional 20 (twenty) quotas will be added and combined with the remaining quota from the previous year.
If the client does not renew the contract, the remaining unused quota will be fully removed from the user’s account immediately upon termination of the service contract.
If the 20 annual quotas are fully used before the contract ends and the user wishes to obtain additional quotas, the user may only purchase an additional Annual Basic Package at the specified price. Single quota purchases are not available for this package.
Quotas cannot be transferred, distributed, or assigned to other journals or websites.
No refunds will be provided under any circumstances once the service is active, either partially or fully.
If a user violates the terms of service, Openjournaltheme reserves the right to terminate the service and revoke any remaining quota without issuing any refund.
Openjournaltheme reserves the right to modify or update these terms at any time, and any changes will take effect from the date they are announced to clients.

Terms of Service for Annual Gold Package

In this Annual Gold Package user will get unlimited quotas for converting documents into XML within a 1-year period.
The quota under this Annual Gold Package can only be applied to a maximum of 10 journals on the same 1 domain (same 1 OJS installation)
The implementation or creation of XML files is carried out independently (self-implementation) by the user using the provided tutorials. Our team does not provide additional implementation services beyond the package terms.
The Annual Gold service is valid for 1 year, and quota will only be allocated once full payment has been received in our account.
Payment must be made in full before the service is activated. There are no options for post-payment or installment plans.
For service renewal in the next year, clients must make payment no later than 30 (thirty) days before the contract expires via the invoice we send.
If renewal payment is not received in our account by the deadline, the service will be temporarily suspended until payment is completed. No quota will be granted during suspension; the quota will be held, and clients cannot generate XML during this period.
Unlimited quota applies only during the active contract. If the client does not renew the service or terminate the contract, the quota access will be fully stopped at that time, and clients cannot generate new XML files. There is no system of accumulation or remaining quota.
Quota cannot be transferred, distributed, or assigned to other journals or websites.
On the JATS Editor dashboard, the quota will be displayed as a real number (e.g., 700, etc.) merely as an indicator of each user. If the number appears exhausted before the contract ends, clients can notify or contact us to update the quota. Quota remains unlimited during the active contract, so clients do not need to worry.

There is no refund under any circumstances once the service is active, whether partial or full.
If users violate the terms above, the service provider (Openjournaltheme) reserves the right to terminate the service and revoke the quota without any refund.
The service provider (Openjournaltheme) reserves the right to modify or update these terms at any time, and changes will apply once announced to clients.
